Delete your account
Overview
You can delete your Kintra account, and everything in it, from inside the app. It is permanent and cannot be undone.
How to delete your account
- Open Kintra and sign in.
- Tap Profile, bottom right.
- Tap the settings icon, top right.
- Scroll to Account.
- Tap Delete account, then confirm.
You will be asked to confirm three times, because there is no way back. Your account and your data are deleted straight away and you are signed out.
If you pay for Pro, cancel it first
Deleting your Kintra account does not cancel your subscription. Pro is billed by Google Play or Apple, not by us, so it lives with your store account rather than your Kintra one — and it keeps renewing after your Kintra account is gone. Cancel it before you delete, or you may continue to be charged for an account that no longer exists.
Android
Open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Kintra, then Cancel subscription.
iPhone
Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Kintra, then Cancel Subscription.
Cancelling does not cut you off immediately: you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and are not charged again.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account:
- Your login and email address
- Your profile — display name, username, bio and profile picture
- Every session you have logged, including its date, duration, venue or activity, and any route, distance and elevation recorded
- Every photo you have taken in the app, including check-in photos and your profile picture
- Your posts, titles, captions, comments and likes
- Who you follow, your close friends list and anyone you have blocked
- Groups you created, and your membership of groups other people created
- Your streak, XP, rank and achievements
- Notification history and push notification tokens
- Referral records
What is kept, and for how long
- Encrypted backups. Deleted data can persist in routine encrypted database backups for up to 30 days, after which the backups are overwritten. It is not accessible in the app or to other users during that time.
- Anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you — for example a count of how many sessions were logged in a week. These contain no personal information and are not deleted.
- Records we are legally required to keep, such as transaction records for a subscription purchase. These are held only as long as the law requires.
Group challenges continue without you
If you started a challenge that other people are taking part in, the challenge itself stays, so it is not taken away from them. Your name, your entry and your results are removed from it.
